Musing on Sin, Death and Mercy

“And the children of Israel spake unto Moses, saying, Be hold we die, we perish, we all perish.  Whosoever cometh any thing near unto the tabernacle of the Lord shall die: shall we be consumed with dying?” (Num 17:12-13). I’ve been reading the Book of Numbers in the […]

Hell-Conscious

People often say Christians shouldn’t threaten unbelievers out of the road to hell…that it is wrong or unethical to preach hell to get them to accept Jesus as their only salvation.  It isn’t just the unbelieving who say this.  Many Believers think and say this too, with varying degrees of […]

It was after saying this that the Lord said: “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity”…

What Was I Thinking?

(This post has been revised) While musing on a discussion I had with one of my readers today, I remembered my past, and how hard it was to hear and obey God in the midst of my own strong desire and passions.  I wanted to please God, but […]
