The Spotlight: Blogs I Read This Week And Recommend

Hi Dear Readers,

Thanks for following my blog, reading, commenting and sharing my content 🙂

I’ve been trying something different lately to engage more of you with the materials on my blog.  You may have noticed the #EditorsPick hashtag I’ve been using to share some of my older posts on an almost daily basis.  I hope you’ve been enjoying reading them.

In case you don’t see the notifications on Facebook or Twitter, you can see what’s on Editor’s Pick by visiting my blog any day.  I also plan to publish a weekly summary on Saturdays, so that my WordPress and email followers don’t miss out 🙂

I also want to share more content from other bloggers, whose posts I have enjoyed, and whose messages I feel will inspire you too.  So, today, I’m starting with three blog posts I read this week that I would like to recommend for you to read, comment and share too.  I plan for this weekly series to replace my Spotlight blog at Godinterest, which I’ve been having issues publicising of late.  I hope you’re blessed – and challenged – as you read!

1. DEAR JEN HATMAKER by Katy

I have long admired you- your heart for the orphan, your humorous-without-being-demeaning writing… but I mostly admire your big earrings.  I have watched you tackle hard subjects, and do so with fairness. But I’m at a loss over your post yesterday about the horror in Orlando…

2. HAVING THAT DIFFICULT FAITH CONVERSATION by Keith Haney

If you are like me there are people you know, friends, co-workers maybe even people in your own family that have drifted from the faith. You care deeply about them and you feel this great sense of responsibility mixed with guilt and an overwhelming feeling of inadequacy…

3. THE LEGEND OF MUHAMMAD ALI AND HOW BEING ‘THE GREATEST’ STILL ISN’T QUITE GOOD ENOUGH by Darrell B. Harrison

Few things in this world give insight into the theology of individuals who profess to be Christian than the death of a beloved celebrity.

Prior to their earthly demise, most Christians are staunch particularists when it comes to a celebrity’s eternal destiny…

  1. Praising God with you for the Darrell Harrison article. The Lord led me to simply share it without comment with other Christian bloggers on WordPress who are caught up in idolatry. Sure enough, it caused a beehive of response, but the Lord is doing such things to purify His Bride, for the end is near and He has astounding purposes for His Church.

If you haven’t already, busy writer, please set some time aside to read this series (still in progress) which addresses His vital end-time purposes for us.

    • Thanks Deanna! Yes, his article was dead on…and it was just the kind of thing I would have written. Whenever I come across such pieces, the least I can do is share!

Thanks for the invite to read your series… I have read the first three or four parts…but haven’t been keeping up. Will visit and catch up 🙂

      I appreciate your comment.
