Issues of Life

Dear Mama

Thank you for giving me the best of you… Even when I didn’t appreciate it. Though I didn’t always understand your discipline, thank you for chastising me in love and for teaching me what it means to be a woman.

Thank you for being a living example of God’s love and His grace, and praying for me continually, so that one day, I might come to know Him myself. I know sometimes it was hard to be patient… Thank you for never losing hope and believing in me when others didn’t!

I know I’ve often taken you for granted. I know that I will never know all that you’ve done for me or suffered for me. I know that I might spend my whole life trying to let you know how much you are loved and appreciated by me…as I am learning the depths of this love myself.

Now I have a child of my own, my understanding of a mother’s love and duty is growing. I may soon understand what it was like for you and appreciate you more. And I know that I learned from the best what it means to sacrifice…

Today, I honour you for the special role you’ve held in my life. To others you are a devoted wife, a loving sister, a wise friend, a godly woman, a role model and more. To me, you’re awesome Mom! I wish you many more years of fulfilment and an enduring legacy, to which I will be a testament.

Happy 50th Birthday, Mama!

  1. Best wishes to your Mum for her Birthday Ufuoma, I hope her day was special for her. I had a surprise Birthday party when I was 50, it was my first Birthday Party, having being born on the 26th of December it meant that not many celebrated my special day but at least in Aussie land it was a Public Holiday so I never had to work on my Birthday.

Yes our Parents disciplined us but hopefully not in anger, abuse breads abuse and other evils, thankfully it is not how God disciplines us. He does not force us to obey Him, but we do separate ourselves from Him and than reap what we sow, just like the Prodigal son did and time out is not pleasant but Wow when we come to our senses and repent, what a welcome Home!
