My first post this year deserves a ‘hello’ in front of it, I think.
I’ve been wanting to post, but kept putting it off, until we got here.
It’s not that I didn’t know what to say, it’s that I didn’t know how… And I was also afraid that it would be another flash in the pan post, with promises to get back my groove again, and lots of pressure to keep it up, but no real steam…
But I’ve honestly missed blogging, I’ve missed the community, I’ve missed the avenue to communicate with the whole world, yet mostly myself.
For some reason, private journals don’t work for me. I start and I stop. But blogging, even if there’s just one comment on your post, you feel heard, relieved, like you shared.
This year has been good, so far. February was a great month for my charity, as we held our Valentine Luncheon on the 12th. January was nerve wracking though, because at the end of it, we were yet to raise the funds for the event, and I was wondering if it would really happen, but it did!
I had so much support with it, from our trustees, friends and volunteers, and people just being nice and helping us spread the word. It was good. 34 of our children gathered with their guardians for a lovely meal together, and some got to meet their sponsors, which was great!
For many people, February wasn’t so good. The economy in Nigeria is a challenge for all of us, and I don’t really know what can be done about it. I pray that God will endow more of us with wisdom and grace to lead and bless the people of Nigeria, so that our destiny is not in the hands of a few. And I pray that the heart of the leaders will be turned to their people, and they will begin to make decisions that will improve the wellbeing of all.
Please help me pray for Nigeria!
I’ll write more soonest, and I hope I’ll find a reader in you. Happy New Month!
