David and Mary had their first official date set for Valentine’s day, which fell on the Friday after their meeting at Church and trip to KFC.  David said the KFC outing didn’t count, though he used that to observe how Mary was with her brothers.  Mary also observed David’s interaction with her siblings.  She could tell he was trying hard to please.

Now that they were officially dating, David called Mary every night to talk, and sent sweet messages to her throughout the day.  Even though he was a busy doctor, he made out time to talk to her for at least 30 minutes each day.  He was very inquisitive and wanted to know everything about her day.  She would run out of things to say, but he wasn’t short of stories.  Working in a hospital gave him many events to draw upon.

By the time Valentine’s Day came around, Mary was both excited and nervous.  She wondered if they would have much to say to each other, seeing as they had covered quite a lot from their daily conversations and frequent text exchanges.  She noticed, however, that he still hadn’t asked about her past…
