Yesterday, my family and the Evwreni Community celebrated a great man, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor (OON). And he so happens to be my very own Daddy. He turned 60 years old on the 25th of November 2017 to the glory of God and we are trusting God for more glorious years and amazing achievements to come!!!
I have shared a few greetings on social media, but it won’t be complete without an official writing on this my wall, my blog, celebrating a man who means so much to me and many others. Nothing can hinder me from writing about his goodness and singing God’s praises for blessing me with a father such as him!
So, what shall I say to my Dad at 60?
Daddy, let me just first thank God for granting you the grace to see another year of life. You are to me, one of the eight wonders of the world! You are such a rare and quality person, outstanding in everything you do, yet the most humble man I know!
I know I had nothing to do with it, but I am sure glad that you are my father, and I am so very proud to say that I am your daughter. I want to make you proud of me too, and live up the the great name you have made for the Emerhors!
Daddy, you are sweet and gentle, loving and so caring. Yes, you get angry at times, but never mad. You are firm with your rebukes, and intentional with your praise! You always seek to build up others and never to knock them down. You are a problem solver, a solution provider, and one of the things I love most about you is that in your efforts to help, you strive never to disempower others.
You are not an enabler for the lazy, but a stepping stone and a guide for those who are diligent to work for their own successes!!! I don’t take for granted any help or blessing you have given me, even though I am your child. Thank you for believing in me, when others didn’t and even when I stopped believing in myself.
Daddy, I want to use the opportunity of your 60th birthday to tell you how much you mean to me, and all your children! Daddy, you are a friend! Not many parents are. You are so approachable and friendly, supportive and inspiring too.
Daddy, you are a mentor to us. You have gone the way ahead for us and prepared a path for us, while giving us the opportunities to prove ourselves too. You are also always there to lend advice and more support as needed so that we can go even higher than you.
Daddy, you are a father. You are a provider and protector of your home. Not just to your immediate family, but to all who are loved by them. So many extended families and communities benefit from your support and influence, that it is hard to quantify just how valuable you are to all of us!
Daddy, you are blessed! You are gifted with wisdom, knowledge and understanding. The grace of the Lord is your foundation. You are anointed for greatness. I am confident that you will fulfil God’s purposes in your life, and I just want to be placed where I can be used by God to assist you in this. I just want to be there for you as you have been with me.
I love you so much! I bless God for you! Thanks for being my daddy, my hero and my friend!!!
Your first and darling child, Ufuoma
