I offer no translations, no concessions and no explanations. Read these words from Paul, just as they are. Take them as his understanding if you like, but know that he was appointed by Jesus to teach the Gospel…and his ministry was particularly for the Gentiles. If sexual morality is an extension of “salvation by works” or an attempt to “keep to the law of Moses”, then I’m sure Paul would not have laboured as much as he did to teach Christians to keep themselves from sexual immorality.
1 Cor 5:11-13
But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
1 Cor 6:9-11
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
1 Cor 6:18-20
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
2 Tim 2:19
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
This message is not for the world, but for any that would call themselves Christian. Do you profess to be Christian? Do you think your sex-life and your Faith have nothing to do with each other? Are you offended by this message?
If you claim to be Christian, and you teach contrary to this, I dare say you are not. The Bible calls you a liar and a deceiver. If you are offended by Christians who teach others to flee from sexual sin and, instead of encouraging them for upholding the Gospel in a world filled with many who would rather not hold to the truth, you accuse them of ‘judging’…then I dare say the truth is not in you, and you do not actually know Jesus like you claim you do.
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry” (2 Tim 4:3-5).
We preach the truth, not to condemn but to save! Those who are convicted and repent receive salvation, but those who are offended and reject it are self-condemned (John 3:16-18). To my Brethren, who are keeping themselves pure by the grace of God and teaching others to do likewise, let these words encourage you.
“If you continue in My word, then you are truly My disciples. Then you shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:31-32).
