Issues of Life

Time Won’t Wait For You

I have a gazillion things to do!
Each day, I have myself to groom,
A family to feed and care for,
Work to do, so I can earn, have and give more,
A cause to serve and a calling to ministry,
A passion to fulfill; a life to enjoy and be happy…

I have so many stories to tell…
Sharing lessons on loving and living well,
Warning people about the choices they are making,
Urging them that their salvation is for the taking!
Daily, ideas arise faster than I can write,
And writing consumes my mind, heart and might!

I know I should eat right and exercise daily,
For proper nourishment will give me more energy.
Good exercise will increase my strength and stamina,
And my mind will be more alert than ever.
But where is the time to exercise and cook right,
When there is hardly even time to relax at night?

Daily devotion and a time of prayer and study,
Is important for every believer to be ready
To face all the challenges a day might hold,
That they might maximize the day before it’s old.
Using every opportunity to do good and spread the Word,
Saving some and leading others to know the Lord.

But time does not hold still for anyone!
Urgent or important, you decide what gets done,
And what lingers, unsatisfied until another day…
If you decide not to eat, sleep or pray
You will soon find that no amount of time,
Will make your works fruitful, nor count for a dime!

You can be foolish, and spend your life reacting…
You can ignore daily care and spend rather on healing…
You can be selfish, and let problems fester,
Until you are compelled to seek a Counselor!
You will expend your wealth fixing rather than enjoying,
When life would have been joyful with prioritizing!

Wisdom, it is written, is profitable in all things.
You don’t know how long til the fat lady sings…
When all your time is used and grace is no more,
When your fate is sealed to Heaven or Hell’s door…
In the end, only what is done for God will stand,
So labour for love and receive your reward in His hand…

  1. I am glad to see I am in good company … Balancing all the above is difficult … I have started multi tasking – example while I am working out on my elliptical read God’s word, watch a sermon, and also listen to my favorite Christian praise songs – I tune out the world and it is me and God … And my exercise lol
God bless you – with peace and comfort in the midst of the noise in this world : )
