“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand” (Eph 6:10-13).
Deception and condemnation are dangerous potholes in our walk of faith. Until the Last Day, the Devil will not stop trying to deceive us out of our reward. If the Devil cannot deceive us, he will try to burden us again with guilt and shame (condemnation), so that we will fall away. But his first tactic is deception, often through self-righteousness.
As we are going along the way, he will seek to introduce pride into our walk. This often starts by us looking at ourselves, and commending ourselves for how far we have come or how good we are. We set targets and goals for ourselves, which are right…
