Mary was rounding up her Sunday School class with the Youth Club.  It was a good session, and she had enjoyed teaching them about Joseph.  He was her favourite Bible character, after Jesus.  She drew so many lessons from his life of struggle, turned triumph, as someone who had had her fair share of traumas.

She sighed deeply, as she remembered the scripture, “weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5).  She had been waiting long for that morning, but if there was a lesson to learn from Joseph’s story, it was that God is in control of our times and seasons, and He was faithful to work things out for the good of His children.

Her faith was all she had to help her through.  It was her life line, and she relished it.  She smiled and hummed to herself as she packed up to prepare to go home.  She was startled when someone’s voice broke into her thoughts.

“You have such a beautiful voice,” he said.

Mary looked up at him wearily, wondering what he wanted.  She’d seen him around at Church, but they had never met…
