Donald swallowed.  He looked at Chinyere, who was still avoiding his gaze.  He looked down at his wife, who shifted uncomfortably in her seat.  From the woman’s account, it was evident she didn’t know anything, and he wished she would leave none the wiser.  He wished Chinyere would look at him so that he could be sure their secret was safe.
