Mary hugged David and wished him “good night”, before letting herself out of his car.  She smiled to herself as she shut the door.  They had had a surprisingly pleasant ride, and caught up on each other’s lives.

Mary was happy to know that David was in a new relationship.  He recently started dating a lady from his Church, who was also called Mary.  They had been friends in their childhood, but had lost touch when she traveled to America to complete her studies.  He had always fancied her, so when he noticed her in Church about a week after Mary dumped him, he was excited.  They started talking again, and he finally got the nerve to ask her out about a fortnight ago.  They are blissfully happy!

He was no longer resentful over their break-up, and felt that Mary had freed him to fall in love with his true love.  He had been happy to find Mary waiting at the bus-stop, and it was good closure for him, to forgive, and to let her know that he was happy and had found his Mary!  Mary didn’t have to tell him that things didn’t work out…
