It had been a month since that horrible day, when Mrs Peterson had thrown her out of her home. Only Chinyere knew the hell she had suffered that day before she’d made it to her aunty’s place in Abuja. She’d initially thought of going to her Oga’s office to let him know what had happened and get some support from him. He worked with a really big multi-national company with their headquarters in Abuja and had previously given her one of their brochures. But when she thought about how she’d fought with his wife, she’d been too ashamed and had doubted that he would help her.
She really wished she had handled it differently. She still didn’t know what came over her. She just felt so angry and cheated, and considering her situation, being thrown out without money for transport and food just seemed too wicked.
