Ifeanyi comported himself and began, with a sigh.  “Well, like I said, we were friends back in school.  She was the new girl, when we met.  Her father traveled a lot, because of the Army, so she moved schools often.  She was only with us for two terms.  She was my first crush.”

He took in a deep breath and continued.  “It took me a while to come clean about my feelings for her.  For the first term, I really just watched her from afar and fronted like I didn’t care.  I asked her out in the second term and she turned me down.  She later explained after the third time I asked that she didn’t want to get into a relationship, which she knew wouldn’t last.  We stayed friends, and when I learnt she was leaving…the notice was really quite short…we kissed, well, made out.”
